Why should I install an external transmission cooler to my vehicle when installing a remanufactured transmission?

It is extremely important to install an external transmission cooler to your vehicle for a couple of reasons:

  1. It gives your transmission an independent way of cooling. Your radiator cools your engine and transmission at the same time, the temperature for your transmission will reach high temps with it stock cooling system. This shortens the life of your transmission do to overheat.
  2. In an event of a radiator going out or having an internal leak, the risk of having coolant(anitfreeze or water) go into your transmission will be avoided. If that was to occur it will cause major internal damage to your transmission and void warranty.
  3. If the stock system has any metal particals stuck in the system, by adding a cooler you will avoid that metal from going into your remanufactured transmission and causing valve issues.

What size should the external transmission cooler be?

The bigger the cooler is the more fluid will be cooled at one time while traveling though the cooler. This will drop the temperature of the fluid to avoid overheating of the transmission. This will ensure the longest life possible out of the remanufactured transmission. Overheating of a unit will not be covered in any warranty.

How do i know what transmission i need for my vehicle?

Our freindly sales team can help you figure out what transmission your vehicle requires. Having your vehicle identification number ( vin# ) will speed up the process and make it more accurate. On most transmissions there will be a label tag right on it stating what transmission it is.

What type of transmission fluid is required for my transmission, and is it important to us the correct fluid?

All makes and models require different fluid per it's manufacture. Any of our sales team members can inform you of the accurate fluid that your vehicle requires. You can also call a local manufacture dealership of your vehicle to inform you of the correct fluid. It is extremely important to add the correct fluid (not something compatible) to avoid valvebody issues and future problems. This will also void a warranty.

What happens if i do not have, or want to send a core back, and in what amount of time do i have to return my core?

The core deposit is set up to cover that charge or cost. In reality you can keep your core or we can provide the transmission to you without a core. If you decide to send a rebuildable core to us you will have 45 days from the day you recieved our unit to send it to us.

What is the difference between a rebuild and a remanufactured transmission?

A rebuild transmission is a transmission that is only repaired of a damaged problem and sealed to get back on the road. Basically it is a patched unit... A remanufactured transmission is a transmission that is fully gone through, inspected for any wear on hard parts and replaced of all soft parts and hard parts that need to be replaced or do not meet or exceed oe specs...
